The community of Bishop's Cannings were celebrating the opening of their church's new facilities this month.
As a busy rural church, St Mary the Virgin is used by numerous local community groups and improving its facilities was a project that the church had wanted to carry out for many years. So, when it was successful in securing a grant from Kennet District Council, the committee sought the advice of CIB South & West to help find further funders for the project.
Just over a year later and after having raised nearly £80,000 for a new kitchen and toilet block, the lively opening ceremony was held in front of a packed audience at St Mary the Virgin to celebrate the success of the whole community in making this project happen.
