This course will give you the knowledge and skills you need to effectively advise groups on funding issues. It will also give you a recognised level 3 qualification demonstrating your competence to provide funding advice. A recent delegate on the course wrote: ‘I’d recommend the trainer as well as the course – I am now much clearer about the process of giving funding advice and am feeling far more confident when going to meet with clients!’
Is it for me?
This course is ideal for community development workers and funding advisers in the voluntary or public sectors. It is suitable for new advisers, those looking for a ‘refresher’, or experienced advisers who would like their skills recognised
through a formal qualification in funding advice. All delegates must be giving advice as preparing a case study about a group you are working with is an important part of the course.
The course includes:
• The role of the funding adviser
• Good practice in giving funding advice
• Diagnosing groups’ needs and stage of development
• Clarifying complex funding criteria
• Giving feedback on draft applications
• Funding trends
Duration: 4 days
Qualification: NOCN Certificate (3 credits at Level 3)
